Their 9 sons toured the nation as

Samuel A. Powell - Father of James Robert (Bob) Powell
Samuel's first wife (Mary) died on December 23,1923
of complications that started as The Measles.
Samuel could not go to the funeral because he was also ill.
Samuel married again in 1927. He was 59 years old.
His new wife's first name was Laura and she was 39 years old.
This was her first marriage.
In July of 1928 they had a daughter named Isabel.
They lived in Etowah county,Alabama
Bob and Martin Powell's sister Ovie married the cousin of
Lewis Decker.
Lewis Decker was the husband of Lyra E. (Powell)Decker - Bob's
Daughter.
Ovie's second husband's last name was Meadows (which is the name listed
in the Parker family cemetery records).
Joyce Reba (Powell) Chapman is also buried there along with her first
child that lived only days.
This cemetery is located on Second avenue in Dekalb county Georgia.
It is the cemetery just northeast of Lilac lane. McAfee rd. begins across
the street from the Cemetary.
I Have posted the 1930 census that was my source for this information.
It is in the Photo section in the
James Robert Powell and ancestors census records.
Bob and Magolia lived in Carrollton in the 1920's
and moved to Dekalb County, Georgia in the late 20's..
They bought a home in the early 40's on lake avenue
in little 5 points (Atlanta) and stayed there
until Bob died in 1967.Magolia sold her house
and moved in with daughter Lyra about 1968.
She lived there until her Death in 1981.
James Robert Powell apparently grew up in Carroll County
Georgia until his family moved to Alabama
about 1910.
I'm not sure he actually went with his family
to Alabama because the 1910 Census shows him
in Alabama with his Powell family and the Carroll county
Georgia records also show him living as a boarder near
the Walton family that Magolia was in.
They married about 1912.
